Though born in Normandy, France, Charles is a true child of the world, having grown up in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Montreal, Hong Kong and Japan.

Following a stint at the Dauphine University in Paris, Charles graduated from the premier Berklee College of Music, where he formally studied composition and arranging while fine-tuning his guitar and vocal prowess.

Now a Los Angeles denizen, Charles has been enthralling local audiences with his live performances, whether solo or featuring an array of percussionists, DJs, jazz musicians and rappers. Charles’ original music, which seamlessly blends rock, R&B, jazz, reggae, pop, hip-hop and French chanson, is influenced by Jeff Buckley, Prince, Bobby McFerrin, Chet Baker and Ella Fitzgerald. Charles's rock project, Juliafly, performs regularly in the Los Angeles area.

As of late, Charles has recorded numerous funky disco-house tracks with his close friend Art Bleek, under the Charlie Sputnik moniker. Charles co-wrote and performed on Art's critically acclaimed album "Between Yesterday and Tomorrow". His collaborations with Arthur are widely available on electronic music label Loungin' Recordings (UK) and Good Mood Music. Charles also deejays in various clubs in the Los Angeles area, including the Standard Hollywood, Custom Hotel and Brussels Bistro in Laguna Beach.

In addition to his career as an artist, Charles helped his friend Catherine Goldwyn found Sound Art, a popular and contemporary music program that encourages creativity, responsibility and self-esteem in underserved Los Angeles youth. With some of these talented youth, Charles also composed and produced music for Black Lounge, an international hip-hop collective. Charles also books deejays and musical acts, and has done so for several movie premieres, including Blood Diamonds, Tenacious D., Bobby, Lions for Lambs, Savages, Juno etc...he has also been responsible for choosing all the musical acts performing at AFI Fest for the past 2 years.

Charles released a 9 song CD in September 2007.
